Description

The numbers refer to the total number of Aboriginal/non-Aboriginal children and young people receiving IFSS at any point of time in the reporting period.

The percentage figures refer to the total number of Aboriginal/non-Aboriginal children and young people receiving IFSS at any point of time in the reporting period as a percentage of the total number of children and young people receiving IFSS at any point of time in the reporting period.

IFSS are defined as those funded services that aim to prevent imminent separation of children from their primary caregivers because of child protection concerns and those services which aim to reunify families where separation of children from their primary caregivers has already occurred for child protection reasons.

IFSS include unique children and young people participating in Intensive Family Services, Intensive Family Preservation, Brighter Futures program, Strengthening Families, Intensive Family Based Services (IFBS) and NGO IFBS collection.

The percentage figures refer to the total number of children and young people commencing IFSS by Gender (Male, Female and Other/Not stated) and Age group (0-4 years, 5-9 years, 10-14 years, 15-17 years and Age not unknown) in the reporting period as a percentage of the total number of children and young people commencing IFSS in the reporting period.

IFSS include unique children and young people participating in Intensive Family Services, Intensive Family Preservation, Brighter Futures program, Strengthening Families, Intensive Family Based Services (IFBS) and NGO IFBS collection. There may be some overlap of children and young people participating in IFBS and the other programs.

A child’s age is calculated at the commencement of the IFSS service.
