Measure – Average amount of rent arrears per tenancy for properties in public housing and Aboriginal Housing Office

Description

This refers to the average amount of rent arrears in Australian dollar terms, excluding fraud and non-disclosure, per tenancy for all DCJ managed properties as at 30 June.

rent arrears monitor the extent to which DCJ managed tenancies in public and Aboriginal housing are meeting their obligation to pay rent charges. Tenants have a legal obligation to pay their tenancy charges as they become due.  If tenants do not make payments, their accounts fall in arrears. This results in a breach of their tenancy agreement.
