Measure – Households assisted with housing products other than social housing
Description
This refers to the total number of households assisted with the following financial and non-financial housing products to secure or maintain their tenancy in the private market during the quarter.
- Financial assistance – This includes Bond loan, Advance rent, Rent arrears, Private rental subsidy and Rent Choices (such as Rent Choice – Start safely, Rent Choice – Youth subsidy, Rent Choice – Veterans and Rent Choice Assist).
- Non-financial assistance – This includes Private Rental Brokerage Service, Tenancy Guarantee/Bond Extra and Tenancy Facilitation. Note: Tenancy Guarantee is no longer offered to new clients after the introduction of the new Bond Extra product on 19 June 2020.
Due to the introduction of Rent Choices in 2017-18, several financial housing products have been reported under different names. For instance, Rent Choice – Start Safely was reported as Start Safely prior to 2017-18, Rent Choice – Youth Subsidy was reported as Youth Subsidy and Private rental subsidy was reported as Private rental subsidy (excludes Start Safely clients assisted).
A household may access more than one type of housing assistance during the quarter.
