The Elder Abuse Helpline and Resource Unit was established in 2012. Since its establishment, it has helped older people in NSW who encounter abuse. In 2017-18, the Helpline has received 2,943 calls from alleged abuse older people, an increase of almost 40 per cent on the previous year.

The NSW Elder Abuse Helpline and Resource Unit Dashboard provides an overview of the Helpline’s performance. The data includes calls received, callers, and relationship between older people and suspected abusers. It also provides data about educational and preventative activities undertaken by the Unit.

FACS leads the implementation of the NSW Ageing Strategy. We are committed to tracking our performance in supporting vulnerable older people and tracking progress made under the NSW Ageing Strategy 2016-2020.
