How to notify and make allegations of serious wrongdoing and misconduct and how we deal with them

Information about how to notify us and make allegations of serious wrongdoing and misconduct about your staff, and other parties that may become engaged to provide services or exercise a function on behalf of DCJ, and how they will be managed.

Making an allegation of serious wrongdoing or misconduct

You, your staff, volunteers, contractors, and consultants delivering services or exercising functions on behalf of DCJ can make allegations of serious wrongdoing or misconduct directly to DCJ.

Under the PID Act and the terms and conditions in your contract with us, you’re responsible to ensure your staff, volunteers and subcontractors are aware of the pathways available to report serious wrongdoing or misconduct. For example, as outlined in Clause 19 of the Agreement for Funding of Services (HSA) Schedule.

You and your staff can make a report about your organisation or DCJ staff by contacting your assigned contract manager, their line manager, director of their unit or DCJ disclosure officer.  Refer to the DCJ PID policy for further information.

Your contract manager is obliged to give you contact details for their line manager, or the manager or director of their unit or a DCJ PID officer.

Allegations can be made in the following ways:

  • in writing or
  • verbally, or
  • anonymously.

The appropriate DCJ officer will respond to you about next steps, and your organisation will be required to assist with an investigation of the matter.
