There is no one agency in NSW that is responsible for delivering responses to people who are homeless, and often services and organisations remain disconnected.

The NSW Government is committed to making the service system more integrated and more accountable to people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless.

We will put people at the centre of the system so they get the right help at the right time.

We will:

  • Develop the Human Services Outcomes Framework for homelessness, a tool to support agencies and non government organisations to embed outcomes and measurements into planning, delivery and evaluation. This will improve outcome for people who use mainstream and specialist homelessness services.
  • Develop a whole-of-system homelessness dashboard to improve transparency of funding outcomes.
  • Provide clear pathways and links into appropriate housing for people in alcohol and drug treatment services to improve their housing outcomes following treatment.
  • Improve the way we work with vulnerable people on the front line, with a focus on delivering trauma-informed care and culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal people.
