Tamworth Youth Homelessness Support Service

This service supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and their families. It provides client-centred homelessness support, including prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transitional accommodation, and brokerage support.

Young people aged up to 20 years, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are given priority of access. Priority is also given to young women with children or who are pregnant.

Services are delivered from Tamworth, with outreach to outlying communities and collaboration with schools and other agencies that work with young people, such as Juvenile Justice, Health and headspace.

The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal young people and families.
