South Western Sydney Single Women Homelessness Accommodation and Support Service

This service includes the women’s refuge, Joan Harrison Support Services for Women and provides crisis and transitional accommodation for single women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 

Responses include intervening early to prevent homelessness, providing safe and supported crisis and transitional accommodation, rapid re-housing and intensive support for women with complex needs. 

The client group specifically includes women experiencing domestic and family violence, mental health issues, disability, substance misuse issues, racial discrimination, and those exiting custody or mental health facilities. 

The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal people and is accessible to women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
