Northern NSW Homelessness Support Service for Aboriginal Women Experiencing Domestic and Family Violence

This service provides the women’s refuge, Bugalma Bihyn (6221 5187 – after hours). The service identifies young and adult Aboriginal women with or without children who are escaping domestic and family violence and are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, and supports them to remain safely in their existing housing, or assists them to secure and sustain safe and stable housing. 

The service provides crisis and transitional accommodation and support while working with Aboriginal women to resolve their homelessness as quickly as possible, and provides Aboriginal women who have been re-housed after being homeless with multifaceted supports to stay housed. This may include intensive responses for women with complex needs.
