Newcastle Eastern Suburbs Women and Family Homelessness Support Service

This service supports women and women with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including women (with or without children) affected by domestic and family violence.

It provides a client centred homelessness support services including prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transitional accommodation. Once safely rehoused and accommodation has been secured, clients will receive post-crisis support to assist them to maintain the accommodation.

This service has arrangements with specialist support services (such as domestic and family violence services, education, training and employment, mental health, drug and alcohol services) to facilitate access for clients with complex needs.

The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal women and families, and is accessible to women and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

This service provides two women’s refuges:

  • Clulow Court
  • Jenny's Place Women's & Children's Refuge
