Kempsey Homelessness Support Service for Women

The service identifies women with or without children who are escaping domestic and family violence and are at imminent risk of homelessness. It provides supported crisis accommodation and transition support with or without accommodation, and intensive responses for women and children with complex needs.

The service delivers prevention, early intervention, and rapid re-housing, and has specific strategies to ensure Aboriginal women receive culturally appropriate responses that meet their needs. While the priority group is women with children who are escaping domestic and family violence, support is also given to single women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

This service provides the women’s refuge, Kempsey Women’s Refuge.
