Gunnedah Homelessness Support Service

The Gunnedah Homelessness Support Service (operating as Gunnedah Family Support Inc) supports young people, young parents, men, women and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including women and women with children affected by domestic and family violence. It also support young people leaving care or other institutions.

Homelessness support service includes prevention and early intervention, rapid rehousing, crisis and transition responses, and intensive responses for people with complex needs.

This service support clients to remain safely in their housing, or where appropriate use a range of approaches to assist clients to secure and maintain safe stable housing. It has a key focus to also ensure clients and/or their children will be supported to access, maintain or re-enter education, training and/or employment.

The service has a strong focus on responses for Aboriginal young people, women, men and families, and is accessible to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
