2023-24 indexation for non-government organisations

DCJ will pay 5.75% indexation on eligible contracts in early August 2023.

Previous advice sent to NGO service providers said indexation would be paid in two parts, DCJ has reviewed this approach and will pay 5.75% on the total value of eligible contracts. Indexation will be paid as a one off payment for the whole of 2023-24 financial year.

The 2023-24 indexation payment will then be built into next financial year’s base funding in contracts and will be included in the quarterly payments from July 2024 onwards.

Please note, indexation can only be paid on contracts that have been active for at least 12 months prior to July 2023, or were extended from last financial year, and on programs where DCJ contracts providers to deliver human services. It does not cover one-off grants.

Programs that are co-funded by the Commonwealth Government may have different indexation rates applied by the Commonwealth, including for example the Specialist Homelessness Services program. Further advice will be sent to service providers affected by the Commonwealth Government indexation.

DCJ will directly advise eligible service providers when the indexation payment is made.
