The FACS Annual Report 2010-11 is the first annual report produced for the department since the Premier announced changes to NSW public sector in April 2011. As part of these changes the Department of Human Services was renamed the Department of Family and Community Services. The report outlines the department’s key achievements for the reporting period.
The Child Deaths 2010 Annual Report: Learning to improve services is the first annual report by a child protection agency in Australia to publicly report in this way on the deaths of children known to them. It includes a comprehensive self-examination of Community Services’ role in the lives of these children and their families, what they did well and what they could do better.
