Casuarina Grove is the largest of the Specialist Supported Living (SSL) facilities operated by FACS. It specialises in providing 24 hour support for people with an intellectual disability and complex ageing-related needs. It is a specialised 24-hour accommodation support service with nursing staff which provides contemporary accommodation, planned therapeutic placements and respite services for the residents.
The core activities / support services provided to clients of Casuarina Grove are predominantly:
- Supported living services including on-site support (domestic assistance, personal care, transport and financial management)
- Nursing services
- Clinical services (therapy, specialist intervention)
- Community access services (learning and life skills, recreational)
- Social support (participation in community)
Casuarina Grove is a 100-bed purpose built aged care / SSL facility that is located in Hamlyn Terrace, on the Central Coast of NSW. It caters for clients with complex ageing and disability needs.
The facility opened in February 2011. It was purpose built at the time and was the first accommodation village to be built in NSW for ageing people with disabilities.
The facility specialises in providing 24-hour support for people with an intellectual disability and complex ageing-related needs. It has many features considered state of the art for an aged care / SSL facility.
