The Transition Program Office (TPO) developed a draft workforce strategy to:
- support the successful transition of out-of-home care to a sustainable NGO sector
- ensure NSW has a sustainable, well-resourced child protection system.
The draft strategy’s aims will be facilitated by:
- implementation of an immediate workforce development program that provides professional development opportunities for staff as well as capacity-building opportunities for NGOs
- development of a medium- to long-term sector development strategy and workforce management program to ensure ongoing support, planning and implementation programs.
Consultation on the draft workforce strategy with the Public Service Association (PSA) commenced in November 2012, as agreed in the consultation framework.
