Role

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Early Childhood Sector Advisory Group Inc (ATSIECSAG) is the peak advisory body in NSW for Aboriginal Early Childhood Education and contributes to the successful transition to school for Aboriginal children.

ATSIECSAGs aim is to promote the educational development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children through the provision of high quality early childhood programs.

ATSIECSAG is currently funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), to work with a number of early childhood services in NSW, specifically those funded by DEEWR.

Responsibilities

The ATSIECSAG Management Committee provides leadership to the sector and acts as its decision making body. The committee also directs the activities of the ATSIECSAG Secretariat. The ATSIECSAG Secretariat provides support for the Management Committee.

Services and programs

Support activities range from consultancy on programs and policies, the provision of training, newsletters, resourcing and problem solving within the services.
