Since its launch in 2009, the NSW Companion Card program has been assisting people with a significant and permanent disability, who require attendant care for the rest of their lives, to participate in community activities and events.

The Companion Card Program was introduced in recognition that many people with significant disability cannot access the community without a carer.

The card can be presented when booking or purchasing a ticket at participating events and venues throughout Australia, and provides the cardholder with a second ticket for their companion at no charge.

The program has assisted more than 32,000 cardholders throughout NSW and is supported by an increasing number of affiliate businesses who are helping to improve social inclusion and access for people with disability.
