2018 was the ninth year of the NSW Carers Awards. The Awards program has seen many inspiring and deserving carers receive Awards over the years, but many of you have told us that it is time to take a new and fresh approach.

This year we are raising awareness and understanding of carers by acknowledging carers through a range of activities, rather than a single awards ceremony.

Carers Week 2019 (13 – 19 October 2019)

Celebrating the contribution of carers is a key part of national Carers Week. This year, the NSW Government will explore what it means to be a carer, and also how businesses can be part of a carer's support network.

A range of activities will take place during carers week. Details of these activities will be shared closer to the week, so you can take part.

We will continue to highlight positive carer stories throughout the year, to raise awareness of what it means to be a carer and how they can be supported in their communities

Carers week events

The NSW Government is again supporting local carers week events across NSW.  Small grants funding is coordinated by Carers NSW.

These local events will allow carers to come together, and celebrate and connect with other carers in their community. More information about local events will be available on this website and the Carers NSW website close to Carers Week.
