New provider announced for FACS clinical services for people with disability

2 Mar 2017

The NSW Government has announced the Benevolent Society as the new provider of FACS clinical services for people with disability across NSW.

You can read Minister Williams’ media release about the clinical services announcement.

The Benevolent Society was the successful provider in a highly competitive process. It is an experienced provider with a proven track record in delivering high quality services to children, young people and adults with disability across NSW. It is an exceptionally strong service provider with a great track record as Australia’s first charity. For more than 200 years it has supported Australians to live their best life.

The Benevolent Society has presented an impressive plan to grow and expand the business. Importantly, it has a strong focus on culture and people that will ensure clients and staff are well supported. We are confident the Benevolent Society is the best choice for our clinical services workforce and the clients they support.

FACS clinical services staff are highly skilled and dedicated professionals who were highly sought after in the selection process.

We especially value their commitment to the people with disability who they support.

To support continuity of care and retain a capable and experienced workforce, professional clinical services staff and those dedicated to supporting clinical services will transfer to the Benevolent Society.

The retention of a skilled disability services sector is critical to the success of the NDIS. Transferring staff to an organisation that prides itself on being an iconic Australian employer that attracts, rewards and retains great people gives the NSW Government immense confidence.

We are also sending a letter announcing the new provider to people with disability who receive clinical services. It will reassure them that it will be business as usual, with no change to their current services.

We expect that the transfer of FACS disability clinical services will commence from August 2017.
