Policy Directive for Management of Legal Matters

The Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) recently issued the Policy Directive for Management of Legal Matters which sets out how the department should manage all legal matters, including civil litigation. This is in response to our obligation under various NSW Government legislation, policies and professional and ethical standards to manage legal matters in an effective, professional and ethical manner.

The Policy provides guidance to our staff and legal officers to help them meet our objectives of adhering to best practice and where necessary, protect the State’s interests.
